COURCHEVEL MORIOND - THE SUN-DRENCHED VILLAGE

WIDE-OPEN SPACES AWAIT

This was where Courchevel’s very first mechanical ski lift was created, so that skiers finally didn’t have to take their skis off and carry them on their shoulders. It was named Sainte-Agathe and opened in 1945, 10 years after the first ski school was created with 5 instructors! Moriond is a sun-kissed resort with a certain rural charm, with wide slopes that are lined with forests on both sides. From the resort, it’s possible to explore the area on foot, go snowshoeing around La Rosière lake, do some shopping or enjoy local food and drink.

ATMOSPHERE AND ARCHITECTURE

In Moriond, there are plenty of beautiful accommodation buildings, charming chalets or small complexes set amid vegetation, down roads that follow the curves of the mountains. Around the foot of the slopes is where you’ll find the biggest concentration of shops, bars and restaurants.

OTHER ACTIVITIES

It’s impossible to miss the Formula 1-style sledging run, which is 3 km long with 8 tunnels, and we also highly recommend the Aquamotion complex down below. Another unmissable activity is the snowshoeing outing around La Rosière lake.
